That was great! As I recall he also tells "Emily" (Suzanne) that she should wear more sweaters. I interpreted that finale as a subtle acknowledgement that the old Bob Newhart how was w-a-a-y better than than Newhart, which I wholeheartedly agreed with.
I too recall that and agree that it was a good ending; but I always wondered what ever became of the brothers Darel and Darel. I realize there aren't many sifi fans on the forum but my family really enjoys the Stargate series on the SiFi channel and next week is their final eposide after 11 years. We are already treading their final show. My sons tell me they are planning two movies to continue their saga, probably DVD realeases rather than the big screen.
Dutch, there are so many. One of the most intriguing was the one were they found the video of Daniel and Carter and could not figure out who they were or how they were involved with SG. They went and found them and they were total geeks in real life not the cool SGers!
Ok, so you just logged into HR HERO and saw that somebody had posted in the "Thread That Will Not Die" so you click on it out of curiosity and wait and wait and wait until...
finally this thread pops up and then you scroll

Regarding the three previous entries: Paul, your description of this thread is correct, since when I started visiting this forum I couldn't figure out why so many postings, only to find after only a few readings how meaningless it was. Which of course made it a GOOD place! Q, what'd you say, I wasn't listening... Congrats Paul on 700th. That along with your 2,000 other entries entitles you to serve as vice-King, directly under our king Ray... Ray, I recommend not going hunting with your new VK...
Paul, you called a NERD ALERT in #697 but at least Dutch and I will know what to do to save planet earth if the Orri ever get through the Stargate and let me tell you, the Soprano's got nothing on them!

"There are levels of nerdiness. I am probably on one of them due to my interest in electronic gadgets and occassional wearing of socks and sandals. But I still reserve the right to make fun of Stargate and Star Trek fans."
Well; it depends.... What color socks to you wear with your sandals: white or dark?.
Uh-oh, I have to admit I've never heard of SG1, much less seen it. But I'll be on any team that will take me. Maybe I can be the Paulie Walnuts of another galaxy.
I too am unable to access such sites at work. I will try to remember to check it out at home this evening. So far, I have them convinced that this is a worthwhile site used to gain valuable HR information...
We're not even allowed to have Quicktime installed on our work PCs, despite the fact that our major trade associations use the MOV format. I had to get special permission for Flash... writing PDFs? Fuggeddaboutit.
That's great Frank. I earned my PHR a few years ago. I probably should have taken the SPHR but I was scared out of doing it by a colleague who told me how tough the test was. I think I could have passed it no problem though looking back.
Make sure you get your new business cards that read:
ACU Frank, S.P.H.R.
Try to drop it into conversation as often as possible. Such as:
"Well, this situation reminds me of a testy little question that I ACED on my SPHR exam. Oh, have you seen my certification, let me grab it for you off my wall."
Also, frequently remind your family that THEY don't have an SPHR so its probably best they leave the decision making up to you.
This will earn you respect and admiration among your peers.

DVD set.
We too have every season that is available on dvd's. Might I inquire as to what your favorite episodes are?

It hasn't died.
Mission accomplished. (Or accomplishing? Since it's never quite over...)
Unlike Dickens, only once or twice has this thread caused my eyeballs to roll toward the back of my head in utter boredom and loss of attention span.
WOO HOO! I claim 700! Seven Hundred! A HERO first.
Its like reaching the summit of everest except the view hasnt changed at all.

I think maybe we need to have a discussion about realistic expectations, Paul.

I have never worn socks with sandals.
That does necessarily mean I am part of the "cool" group, though.

so I can't watch it but I think
I know the skit.
I have actually used these videos and others like them for my new employee orientations. Its a great way to break up a 3 hour handbook review.
A couple of our staff who returned again for their second summer asked me if I was going to be showing the "stupid videos".
I guess I should be thankful that my employer simply expects me to not lose my laptop. Which I almost did once...
I'm sitting for my SPHR Tuesday.
