Thanks for the suggestions. I checked with my attorney and we can legally ban smoking on the property. Most, if not all, of our clients work in churches so hopefully it won't be too much of an issue.

Forgive my bluntness, but I used to work in plant and we had to pay more workers comp claims due to employee stupidity than you could possibly imagine.

Based on my understanding, if he can provide proof that he has applied for the green card, that can suffice for 90 days but once he receives the green card he has to provide you with that. I honestly don't know how long it takes to get a green card…

Just as an example, one of the reasons you can be terminated is excessive absenteeism or tardiness. I would like to define what is considered excessive. He wants to determine on a case by case basis.
