Sorry! I've been singing Give Me Just a Little More Time for a week now!
-
LOL! Wish there were some good news on that front to share. Has there ever been a more hapless team?? Meanwhile, the Chiefs are busy behaving badly and being arrested at training camp . . .

I have reasons which I won't disclose; explaining the reasons would be tantamount to enabling my profile. However, I have told many of you about myself in private messages and/or emails. I don't have anything to hide.
-
Nae Nae, please tell me you're not in the KC area! I don't want to find out this is also my favorite Mexican place.
-
I don't know about relevance, but Carter reminds me of a child who would rather have "bad" attention than no attention. He has nothing substantive to add to current social discourse so he just stands ups occasionally and throws out some criticism o…

What I've heard about his family is that he was a strict disciplinarian and controller who wife was "submissive". She claims she didn't suspect a thing and that becomes almost believable in a scenario where she wasn't allowed to think for herself. …

Here's another appalling story I just heard last night: Precious 3-year old girl is kicking the coffee table with her tap shoes. Grandma leans over and says sweetly, "Honey, don't kick my table." Babygirl responds, "I'll kick your a&#". Gra…

Sorry to disappoint. He's 80-something, his son 60-something and both are married. Don't know about grandsons . . . .

By all means! I think this world would be a better place if we all had inner peace. This post came to us from one of our Trust customers; an elderly, straitlaced and mind-bogglingly wealthy man.

A little blurry x:-)

Hi Angie -- I'm curious to know how your benefits compare with other employers in your area. I think a package like the one you've described would make recruiting challenging for us here in the Kansas City area.
-
I also believe it is a mistake to keep them, but if you are determined, consider a separate file. They absolutely don't belong in the personnel file. As to your question, can the explanation to the manager simply be, "I can't read them." That's w…

Thanks for the suggestion, Livindon, but I've read the act too many times to count. In fact only in the last few years have I stopped reading it with virtually each new request for leave! I'm comfortable with my process because our employment law …

I know I'm in the minority and I know HIPAA has changed the way we think about PHI . . . but -- my opinion is that the employer IS entitled to know what the serious health condition is. If not, why does the DOL's Certification of Health Care Provi…

What if he hadn't told you he won? How would you handle it if you didn't know about it? I like Gillian's idea - offer to buy it from him at a discount.

I didn't get out of the post that the banquets are luncheons -- just the fundraising part happens during lunch. I would guess the banquets are in the evenings?
-
Am I missing something? What policy could you possibly write that would govern private banquets? How could the company prevent alcohol and dancing at a party they are not sponsoring, financing or hosting?
-
Do "when needed" and "essential" really go together?
-
Then who is that hottie leaning on the bike in front of the bottle tree??
-
Fair warning - this is a highjack. Don, you silver-tongued devil. I not only agree with what you said, I'm crazy about the way you said it. This post makes you seem . . .well . . . attractive! XXOO
-
I sure do agree. I wouldn't send the notice early because I think there's a better chance it will be overlooked/ignored and you may have to turn around and send it again anyway. Since there is no advantage to sending it early -- the original post …

The 60-day period will be the later of 60 days from the loss of coverage date OR 60 days from your notice.
-
I concur with your list above, njjel.
-
Gene, how clever of you to post a practical example of the kind of name-calling, humiliating and offensive post that Anonymous finds distasteful!
-
I'm late to read and post here -- but wouldn't have traded my vacation to be timely. x:D The only things on the Forum I have ever objected to publicly, privately or in my own head were the personal attacks, the character assassinations by e-bullies…

It sounds like the majority of us would have put more effort into it than you described in your original post -- assuming your original post included all relevant details.

The HR Dept may have met its legal obligation, but it missed its good faith obligation. lwl -- are you a member of the HR Department in question?
-
I've seen white noise used effectively. When it's at the right level it makes it difficult to hear someone speaking unless they are right next to you.
-
I'm going to suggest, Karene, that you have now added your own riduculous banter to this thread thereby following in my footsteps and doing exactly what you are scolding us for. I hate this thread! Stop bumping it to the top and let it die.
-
Don, I sincerely apologize. In a fit of pique (this was prior to taking Dr. Phil's advice) I resorted to the same accusatory, name-calling behavior to which I was objecting. I have great respect for your HR knowledge, wisdom and experience and I'm …
