  • Yes, we do check references. The questions we ask are as follows:

When did the applicant work for your company?
    What was the applicant's position/title?
The applicant states earnings of $_____. Is that correct?
What information can you give concerning:
    Quality of work?
    Quantity of work?
    Attendance?
Did this person get along well with others?
Why did this person leave your company?
Are they eligible for rehire? If not, why not?
What would you say are the applicant's strong points?
    Weak points?

We are notoriously closed-mouthed (as are most banks) when it comes to giving references ourselves outside of name, rank & serial number, but we always hope that we'll hit the jackpot and somebody else will answer all these questions!
  • We verify previous 5 years of employment. Because most companies are reluctant to say too much we ask for dates of employment, title, and if they are eligible for rehire.
