Hey guys,
Taking a week long trike trip starting Monday, but planned destination (New Orleans)is forecasting rain for the next 7 days, secondary destination (Santa Fe) is also. Anybody in a place that is not forcasting rain for the next week? Help!!!!!!!!

I lived in Shawnee for four years in a former life ('76 - '79) and travled all over the state. Lots of great folks in the OK state. That is as long as you like Sooner ball.
Um... forget it.
Terrible traffic, a tiny cramped zoo, an Arch that's closed half the time, a lame baseball team, the world's worst pizza, and virtually no Mexican restaurants. Not much of a draw.
It will continue to be hot and sunny in Phoenix until the monsoons hit in July/August, and then it will be hot, sunny, and muggy.
There are lots of things to do here, but we don't do them because it is too hot and sunny in Phoenix. That is why we God made Flagstaff, AZ. It's always cool there.
Daily temps here are in the 110 degree range, give or take a few degrees.
If you come visit, you could spend your days hanging with me in the office. You'd have to help me work, but you could do it in shorts, tank tops and flip flops. I'll play some Jimmy Buffet and even let you drink margaritas while you work. Nobody else here gets that kind of special treatment, but for you I'll make an exception, as long as you don't mind a little HR work while you are at it.
BTW Q did you ever make your trip through KS?
Speaking of tequila, notice how ray didn't volunteer himself and his wife to help me get some work done, even though margaritas could be involved?
ray, it's so much easier to take the two of you to AZ, then take the whole brood of them to see you. (Easier to the kids, anyway) My parents visit us 3-4 times each year. We visit them maybe once a year if we are lucky. My husband's family are in the San Antonio and Houston areas, so we have to take turns visiting them.
I grew up with my dad's parents in town, and my mom's mother only 2 hours away. We saw the grandparents all the time. Didn't realize how lucky I was back then... I'm just glad my boys' grandparents can visit so often, so they aren't strangers. x:-)
We are leaving our boys with my parents for a week after our visit. First time ever that I've left them with someone else, and not in my own house.
Now that I'm used to the idea, you can take them for a week if you want. It'll give you some practice. x:D
I've found they work better if you give them to the kids before the flight.
This week sucks. I don't feel like explaining it in detail and I don't want to monopolize this thread with it right now, but I will fill you in at some point. The short story is my seven-year-old has some special needs that make it difficult for him to function in large groups. The way he chooses to handle his frustration has caused him to get kicked out of everywhere we've placed him this summer and my parents are coming to the rescue. He is excited to go, and I am sad because I will miss my baby. The world will not end, however.
Belated thanks for the invite. We ended up in Colorado; although the margaritas and flip flops would have been good. I actually got to take a whole week with no interruptions from the office (imagine that). And we rode 1792 miles in 6 days without getting rained on once.
Don't worry about baby boy; Grandmas have a way with handling their grandsons.
