Congratulations! I hope that this new situation will be all that you expected. Please don't be a stranger to the forum, your comments and input are greatly appreciated. Again, congratulations...
Well, DD, if it's really "all plusses and no downside," I hope you just forgot to include one big plus in your new job - that you'll still have plenty of time to devote to the Forum. 2259 posts and counting -- and if we weighted them for value, you'd be off the charts.
So settle into your new digs, get yourself a couple of vanilla wafers and a cup of coffee, fire up your browser, and rejoin the conversation!
If not, we'll have to break out the satellite sensors and train 'em on southern Mississippi for those telltale signs of turkey deep-frying...
Seriously, you bring not only good information, judgment, and advice, but wit and personality as well. You help make the Forum sizzle. Thanks, and hurry back.

Ditto from Christy and the littlest Reeder! We'll miss you when we occasionally check in on the forum during 2 o'clock feedings. We depend on you for a good chuckle to keep us awake. Best of luck in your new job. We'll see you soon!
Best of luck to you Don! I have enjoyed reading your responses and have learned a lot. I have been in the HR field for 22 years, but still learning. Hope you can join us again.
Congratulations, Don! I know you're going to love non-union. The best move I ever made was going from a union company to a non-union one. I've appreciated all the insight and knowledge I've gained from you through your 2200+ posts. Don't be a stranger--
First, Congratulations! Your old company should be sick and your new company has no idea how lucky they are to have gotten you! Was curmudgeon an essential function of your new job?
I'm not going to let you off the hook as easily as everyone else did. You do not get two weeks off simply for changing jobs! I'm sure your new job will give you a computer, so sign on and be back here, same time, same place!
Christy had her baby and was back on in a matter of days. I know that you're as tough as she is. So come back soon and let us know how the new job is going!
Don - Congratulations on your new position. I, also, always look for your repsonses on posts as I know that they will be informative, truthful, and humorous. I feel that I have learned quite a bit from you, just by reading your posts. Thanks. You will be missed...and I look forward to seeing you here again soon. Your new company is very fortunate to have you. Take care!
Did you know you had so many "friends" on the forum? You will definately be missed while you are orienting yourself to your new job. Hurry back now! Regards, April
I agree with Margaret. I really don't understand your need to take time off particularly since you're saving all that extra travel time. Seems like you'll have plenty of time to stay in touch. I look forward to checking in with the Forum each morning and thoroughly enjoy the pearls of wisdom provided by the menagerie. I especially appreciate your contributions and feel as everyone else does how truly fortunate we are to have you in our midst. Hope you'll be back soon and congratulations on your new job!
No need to say Good-Bye. You are a Forum junkie ... like the rest of us. Have a rapid and easy indoctrination into your new environment and come back real soon, y'all.
It sure does sound like it is all on the upside for you. Congratulations, and hurry back online. It will not be the same without your insite and humor. From one Mississipian to another ---Come on back now, ya hear !
