Termination or Resignation
An employee put in his 2 weeks notice due to mistreatment and his supervisor accepted the resignation. However, the supervisor next in the chain of command wouldn't accept the resignation and told him to return to work so she (supervisor) can work it out. Fast forward 2 weeks, the same supervisor who wouldn't accept the resignation returned to the employee and said that it's best he resigns and even told him what their last day would be. The employer is not At-Will. Is it a termination or a resignation? What should HR do to fix it/document it?
