EEOC wants employers to include pay data to EEO-1 reports

On Friday (January 29), during a white House ceremony celebrating the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay act, President Barack Obama announced that the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is proposing a new rule to collect pay data through the EEO-1 report, which it will use to identify possible pay discrimination and help employers promote equal pay in their workplaces.

The proposed rule appeared in the February 1 issue of the Federal Register, and the comment period ends April 1.

For those of you that have to submit EEO-1 reports, how much will this increase the effort involved in the task? Are you planning to submit comments?
