Almost Maxed Out in Salary Range
Looking for advice on how to approach my situation with my employers. I was hired into a salaried position almost 2 years ago at almost the maximum salary for my pay range. I was not aware of this at the time. Since I was hired, my responsibilities have increased and I manage other employees. When I review my current pay range versus the pay range for my position from sites such as salary.com for my location, my current pay range is anywhere from 30 - 50% less. My current position in my pay range is one factor in determining my merit increase and is the main reason why I received a very small percentage increase at the end of last year. I need some suggestions on how to start discussions with my employers and convince them to reclassify me into a higher pay range.
