Performance Review

My manager said my performance review score in front of two of my peers a few weeks ago. This was also in a location where people at the cubicle next to me told me they heard it.

I was furious but did not let my manager know. This is not the first time my manager has said inappropriate things.

I am supposedly being moved once we hire more people to a different area of the company or at least under a different manager. I told HR but it seems like all he is getting is a slap on the wrist...is this tolerated at your company? I was embarassed...is he going to start telling people my salary next?!

  • To be honest, neither your salary nor your performance review score are legally protected matters of privacy as far as I am aware.  That doesn't mean the supervisor wasn't acting inappropriately, it just means that the only penalty is whatever the company opts to apply.  Hopefully for everyone concerned, the penalty is in line with company policies on conduct, privacy, employee records, etc.
