Minority Vendors and Reporting

Hi-

I am still learning my way around my HR responsibilities so I apologize for the ignorance of this question....but, if we use minority vendors, is there any sort of reporting to some agency that I have to do?  Or another way to ask this question is, we are going to be partnering with a minority owned vendor (she owns a warehouse in another city that we are going to use and post our sign on the outside), again, is there any sort of reporting that I need to do?  Just want to make sure my bases are covered.

  • If these minority vendors are government contractors and you do enough business with them to qualify you as a covered subcontractor, you may have affirmative action obligations under Executive Order 11246. Check with the OFCCP website to see if you are covered www.dol.gov (check ESA, OFCCP). Other than that, you could check state obligations or ask the vendors if you have any obligations.
