Service Awards Memo

Hi All, 

I have been asked to draft a memo on the discontinuation of our service awards program. This is being done as a part of the many cost cutting measure our company is adopting. Did you folks work on something like that and if there is sample I can take a look at.

 Please advise.

    Team,

    Times are tough and everyone is cutting back.  Read the papers lately?  Our company is not exempt from market forces that drive the financial world and affect the fortune of millions.  To reduce the urge to lay people off, we're killing the award banquet and gadget giveaway.  Get back to work.

    While we have not written a specific memo on service awards, we have informed employees that there will be many cuts in benefits, expenses and pay this year.  We really haven't singled out any specific cut, except pay cuts and 401k match discontinuation for 2009.

    Is this the only cut you are making? If not, you might think of communicating them all together rather than 1 at a time.
