I am looking for a policy/procedure I can use in the employee handbook for exempt, non-exempt, and hourly employees. If anyone has one they would like to share with me, I would greatly appreciate it. I can send my email address if you have a policy I can borrow. Thanks for your help.

I'm afraid that I don’t have a pregnancy or maternity leave policy to offer but believe one could be crafted from the language included in the Personal Leave of Absence Policy combined with the FMLA Leave Policy available on HRHero or HRLaws.
Before you head down that path, though, consider that many companies eliminated their pregnancy/maternity policies years ago – about the same time as the Pregnancy Discrimination Act became effective. You can find information about the PDA on the Pregnancy Discrimination topic pages on HRHero and HRLaws. Also, check out the Pregnant Employees, Working Parents and Employee Leave topic page on HRHero.
FMLA has a maternity leave policy built into it so if your company is FMLA eligible, then you might start with that. Some states have laws regarding maternity/paternity/parental leave so be sure to check the laws in your state to make sure your policy doesn't conflict with them.
If you’d like to review what others on the forum have said about maternity policies in the past, go to:
