We are closing a satellite office and the one employee will just work out of her home. Does anyone compensate the employee for use of their home for an office?
We don't have any telecomuters right now, but we have had in the past. We have never compensated anyone for use of their home. The situation was as convenient for them as it was for us (and sometimes more for them). We did pay for a phone line, and any other items that we requied (computer, etc). We also had other issues that had to be resolved, like work comp and verification of time and effort (supervision). Once resolved, we found the situation very workable for most employees.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
