Cascade Foods

I just read that Cascade Foods fired an employee after she refused to have a restraining order altered so that another employee (the object of the RO) could continue to work there.
Is it just me, or did the management there create a new level of stupidity?

I guess I am just thinking about a scenario like this one:
- Guy and gal meet at work and begin dating
- Relationship is rocky and they break up
- They have a blowup and gal gets a restraining order
- Now guy can't come to work
So I guess my question is how hard is it to get a restraining order? I thought they were fairly easy to get with the idea being that if two people are not getting along, the courts would be generally supportive of them keeping their distance from eachother.
Its one thing to stay away from someone and its another to be forbidden to come to work.
One would really have to be vindictive to go that far. Plus, the guy at Cascade only had to go before a judge and offer evidence that nothing ever happened. Cascade could have given him a leave of absence until the matter was cleared up. It doesn't sound like that is what happened. After reading the article my impression was that though she had been physically attecked by her ex-boyfriend, Cascade felt she would be safe there with them so she should alter it for when she was at work.
Would this include "stalking protection" restraining orders? I guess I just see potential for abuse. Thats not to say that there arent CLEAR situations where individuals need protection from potential abusers whether they are at home or work.
I think it would be pretty difficult to get one if they just "weren't getting along" as you stated, Paul. (If that were the case, I could have had a restraining order against my ex-husband for 20 of the past 30 years!)
In the Cascade Foods case, it did say that she said he had hit her, so it doesn't sound like she took out the restraining order just to be vindictive or because she didn't want to be around him or otherwise wanted to mess with him in some way. Don't get me wrong, I know women who would do that just to be nasty if they thought they could get away with it, but I think that's one reason that it isn't terribly easy (at least in my state) to get a restraining order.
Enquiring minds want to know.
Frank?
Speaking of pants, has anyone else seen the news story about a guy in Germany who was evicted from a train because he didn't have a ticket and then got mad and mooned the conductor but got his pants caught on the train somehow and was almost injured? I promise I'm not making this up. Made me think of Frank right away.

Bet that guy is on Santa's naughty list too, but hopefully, he is not wasting his time trying to pretend that Mrs. Santa has a list he can get on.

It appears that someone has been arrested for egregious poking on Facebook.
