Look, Ray! No mushrooms!

I got this from allrecipes.com
INGREDIENTS
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
4 (3/4 inch) thick pork chops
1 (15 ounce) can pineapple chunks with juice
1/4 cup golden syrup
1/4 cup ketchup
1/2 teaspoon curry powder
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
3 tablespoons raisins
DIRECTIONS
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and fry on each side until browned, about 3 minutes per side. Pour in the liquid from the pineapple chunks, saving pineapple for later. Stir in the golden syrup and ketchup and season with curry powder, ginger, salt and pepper. Reduce heat to medium, cover and simmer for 30 minutes, or until pork chops are tender.
When the pork chops are tender, pour in the pineapple chunks and add the raisins. Heat through briefly, then serve.

What fruits and vegetables DO you like, if not pineapple or mushrooms?
It just occurred to me that it is a good thing we do not all share an office. We'd never get anything done, with all the talk about indefinite articles, and ketchup, and turtles, and the whereabouts of Frank's pants, not to mention all the potlucks, garage bands, and Forum cruises.
But... having all that knowledge would be useless because we'd spend all our time downing lots of wine and creating new recipes that apparently cannot involve pineapple or mushrooms, but CAN include cup after cup of ketchup.
You know... I wonder if this is how M. Lee Smith formed his company.
I bet he was hanging out with a bunch of other HR types, drinking heavily, eating chops, and discussing various HR issues and also a myriad of unrelated topics that were equally, nay even MORE entertaining than mundane old HR issues.
Then one of his HR pals said "Hey M.! If we put our collective heads together, we'd be rather formidable, wouldn't we?"
And so they did. And here we are.
And know you know the rest of the story...

Maybe she jumped out of a plane BECAUSE of all the booze-guzzling and sex/politics discussions. Sounds tempting sometimes.
>and politics discussions or the jumping out of the plane?
You forgot one critical word.
Without that word, I'd say jumping out of the plane is more tempting.
Did any of you "cooks" notice that while you were talking or boozing (among other things) your Pirates' Pork Chops caught on fire?? x:o
Maybe this group shouldn't get together for a BBQ, someone's house may burn down.
You could change the subject line to Burnt Pirates' Pork Chops
Thanks for pointing out the fire risk. You are now officially in charge of Forum Safety. Please remember that when we go on the next Forum cruise. Paul can't swim.
Not by me though - I like Paul. He lets me pick on him mercilessly and is STILL nice to me. He's probably waiting for just the right moment when I turn my back. (Which will never happen. Growing up with two big brothers helped me develop great self-preservation instincts.)
