Hadn't made this for years, but took it to a party the other night and people loved it.
1/2 lb. braunsweiger
8 oz package of cream cheese *
3 T finely chopped onion
1 T lemon juice
1 T Worchestershire (sp) sauce
Soften cream cheeese and braunsweiger. Beat together (mixer is best) Add other ingredients. Mix well. Plop on serving plate. Shape to ball. (If too soft put in fridge for a few minutes) Chill for a few hours. *Recipe calls for "icing" it with another 4 0z of cream cheese. Looks better but not required.
Tried to post a great orange cookie recipe on Sat. from home, but couldn't get signed in. xx(

Anyway, nobody yet has explained what it is, only what it is not. My dad's favorite sandwich was always what he called goose-liver or goose-liver cheese and I never knew what the heck it really was. I figured out later that it must be about the same as Spam or Vienna Sausage. I think I recall that it came in a package, sliced square with a thin edge of fat around it. I never knew what part of the animal came square like that.
Thanks,

Will try to remember the orange cookie recipe tomorrow. Don't hold your breath. Lots of gray moments lately
I thought nobody liked braunswiger but me. Lots of mayo on rye, mmm. I'll try these recipes and not tell what's in it. See what my family says about that!
Just had to share with you... we have prepared this item a few times at home and we love it. We have also taken this to a local college function as an hors d'oeuvre and once to a Boy Scout Court of Honor and it was a hit at both. I must admit that my wife calles it Red-Neck Pate rather than Braunsweiger Ball.
Thanks for the recipe,
