Obama Prolongs War

From the NY Post:

WHILE campaigning in public for a speedy withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, Sen. Barack Obama has tried in private to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an agreement on a draw-down of the American military presence.

According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for delay a key theme of his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad in July.

"He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington," Zebari said in an interview.

The article goes on to say that now Obama is talking about a 2010 withdrawal, but if he gets his way to prolong the draw down, that date will be impossible to make.

Interesting stuff.

Wow. Typical twisted logic from the right.

Nothing was going to happen until 2010 anyway (under the Bush plan). Waiting 5 months to hammer out the details is not going to affect that. It's highly likely that a different plan could accomplish the withdrawal much sooner, anyway.

Ray, I am really not sure if I understand your position here and please let me ask you the question: are you against Obama? I honestly do not want to start a political war here, I just would like to know and that is all.
I want to say that I am for Obama all the way. I am not a Democrat and I am not a Republican: I have alwasy voted in this country for the one I thought would the best (of course in my humble opinion).
Please people do not get upset but I just cannot stand Palin!!!

I would hope that no one would berate you over what is ultimately a personal choice. Everyone has to look at the issues and vote the way they believe is best for America. As long as we are all doing that - then I for one think it is great we don't all agree. Life would be extremely dull if we did...

Marina, of course I wouldn't berate you. I'm afraid of your evil eye. No, I'm not for Obama, I think he could take us down a path of a type of socialism that leads to fascism. I just ran across the article referenced above and thought it interesting. Democrats have accused McCain of selecting Palin only for political reasons, not because she is good for the country, but it appears Obama can be just as politically motivated and say things only to further his personal agenda at the expense of the country. Call it spin, but if he really said that back in July, then I really question his character and motives. Both sides like to throw mud at the other side, then then accuse each other of spin and misrepresentation. Both are guilty. Both parties are in the hip pockets of special interests, just different special interests.

Honestly, I'm ready to go 3rd party. I don't like either McCain or Obama. Not really much difference. Do you want to die by firing squad or by hanging. Either way we're in trouble if this is the best we got.

People, even here at work, are far less tolerant and believe that everyone should feel the same way they do about the issues.

Who would be on your “ideal ticket”? Maybe you can start a grassroots write in campaign….
