Yep, I picked out a 47 MG TC and got it. Was even surprised with a 53 Ford Pickup my wife knew I wanted. Got the sweater I picked out. Got the book I picked out.
My son in law loves model cars too. Another one loves model airplanes. Go figure.
I guess getting what you want works best when you pick it out. Santa got me a 'Kitchen Butler' which is just another name for a rolling island for my kitchen. Santa put it together for me early, but then wouldn't let me touch it until Christmas Eve.
For once, Santa didn't assume my heart's desire was tools or kitchen gadgets, and I got a beautiful necklace, a lighted makeup mirror, and an IOU for a new cell phone. (Apparently, Santa's workshop was out of the model I wanted, so I'll get that once he's got it in stock again!)
No family members in the hospital or jail; quality time with grandchildren; dinner with my 93 yr. old mother; after two days of bad weather, a beautiful Christmas day; having my wife more relaxed than she's been for twenty years. All priceless, and I couldn't ask for more!!!
I got the Garmin Forerunner 305... It's a stopwatch with a built in GPS unit, so you know how far you have run or biked... accurate within a few yards per mile. I've wanted one for a few years, so I guess this means I've been extra good this year! The one thing I hinted for that I didn't get was the newly-released Martin Briley collection on CD. I guess I'll order that myself. I also need a new chainsaw, but I guess that doesn't seem "Christmassy" enough for my wife or kids.
