So about 2 weeks ago I was made a very happy woman when football started back up. Needless to say, I'm in Austin, TX, home of the reigning national champions, which means that 95% of the city, if not more, is football MAD right now.
Anyone else out there a football junkie like me? Our loss to Ohio State last Saturday was depressing. I don't want to talk about it, and instead have buried my sorrows in bloody marys all week.
Just to give you an idea of the level of fanaticism in Austin - on Saturday before the Ohio State game, at synogogue we sang the last prayer to the tune of "The Eyes of Texas Are Upon You." Too bad that even with a Rabbi's blessing, we couldn't pull through.
Hook 'em.

GO BLUE!!!!!!
I think this was the 'Horn's good deed of the year - at least that is the way I look at it so I can sleep at night.
>won last Saturday.
So, Ray -- You thought you'd get me going on the Hillary Clinton thread and, failing that, you've resorted to dissing the Horns?? The ice is pretty thin out there in the middle of the pond where you're skating.
Did nuts suddenly grow opposable thumbs? Where have I been? While Buckeyes are certainly a mascot destined to strike fear into all that cross its path, just remember that the buckeyes may have won last week, but last year, we crushed their nuts.
Enough said.
Wow.. I can't believe I am reading that... Thats the most beautiful thing I have ever read.
Curious...
Go Ducks!
Even though I'm an MSU grad (go Green), I'm sure you are as puzzled as I am about the recent polls: #11 Michigan beats the living snot out of #2 Notre Dame, looks extremly impressive all the while, and only moves to the #6 ranking, while #6 Auburn barely beats #7 LSU (scoring a whopping 7 points) and moves into the #2 slot.??? Can someone help me understand that logic???
Yes, Michigan was impressive in their win over ND.
woof woof woof woof!
