The Filthiest Spot in Your Office Is Where?

This isn't funny and I hope you're not eating lunch at your desk.

Can you name the dirtiest location in your workplace? Logic would dictate the hot spot for germs would be a high-traffic common area. Let’s take a guess. It’s the toilet seat, right?

Think again.

Your phone and desk are the most bacteria-ridden places in the office. According to a recent study funded by the Clorox Company, the phone and desktop have 400 times more germs than the toilet seat.

The secret is to never answer the phone and keep so much work on your desk that you never touch the top of it!

I have a co worker who disinfects EVERYTHING, she always carries a supply of those cleaning wipes and uses them constantly. This co-worker also gets MORE illnesses than anyone else.... I think we "need" the filth to build up our immune systems. As the saying goes "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger".

Like most things in life, there has to be a balance in this area too. The antibacterial soaps were super popular until a report came out saying that using them too much can actually kill the good bacteria your body needs. I spray the phones and door knobs with Lysol a couple times a year but I'm far from psycho about it.
