OK, my kitchen faces north and the sun is hitting the window right now and the thermometer reads 102 degree. Funny, I'm reading more and more that people are beginning to believe that global warming is a problem.

Returned from Alaska 2 weeks ago. Proof of global warming is evident in the receding glaciers. Of course others have their own opinion, but the evidence of where they "were" and where they "are" now is obvious.

My wife is in Los Angeles for the week. She said it is nice getting a break from the Minnesota heat.

It was 93 degrees at 6 p.m. here yesterday and will be similar again today...but, true to New England tradition, things will change and only be in the mid-80's tomorrow.

The boss had me buy some watermelons to chill and cut up later for the plant employees.

Cheryl, wanna trade??? :>) We're supposed to be upper 90s today, then 105 tomorrow, then low 90s and upper 80s for a week or so. I'm focusing on that which is to come!

I don't believe in global warming - the earth is on a cycle that is much bigger than us or our ability to measure. The glaciers will melt and then we'll have another ice age. It'll take another bazillion years, though.

Hey I NEED Texas! I must admit the title of this thread concerned me, but now I get the point. What's all this complaining about the heat, it's July we're used to 100+degree days in July, August, and September; but we're expecting a cold front this weekend, only going to be a high of 98 on Saturday! Break out the sweaters.

Well, I was waiting for someone from Texas to rise up on their hind legs and howl. Phoenix is hot but dry. Texas is hot and humid.... NY feels like Texas right now. Ah.... but the cold front has hit us, it's a balmy 88 today.

Here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes Getting Ready for Ice Fishing Season, 100 degree heat is like going to hell. Some local wags don't stop bitching until the thermometer drops below 50. Right now these people are easy to spot; they're sitting out under the tree with a long sleeve shirt on (that's all they have) sharpening up the ice auger and praying to God that the devil doesn't spot them.

LOL...That makes me think of a guy who attends our church who never exposes any skin other than his face and hands. The past weeks of 95+ and high humidity he wore long sleeves and pants with thick white socks inside his sandals.

I need Texas too! Forcast is supposed to be 100 degrees with the heat index of 104. It could be worse - I'm a transplant from California and where I came from the weather was 110 degrees yesterday!! In central Texas, we are also expecting a cool front, it should be a balmy 97 degrees over the weekend. Where is the rain??

Is hot and DRY here not humid, I think that's south Tx, our humidity is 50% or less and since I spent 7 years in Florida this is very DRY. I do love TX though, just wait awhile and the weather will change.

Here in central Missouri we too are dealing with 100+ temps and the humidity to match. The local weather prognosticaters had been saying cooler temps (all the way down to the 80's) and rain for the weekend. I hope that get this one right!
I sure am glad that Boy Scout camp wasn't this week.

I cannot convince my husband that you should wear a brown belt with brown shoes, and black belt with black shoes. It's just once a week for church, though, so I pick other battles.

And I cannot STAND sweaty feet! I wear socks just about any time that I can. If I'm wearing sandals with pants, I will pick colored socks instead. Does that help? :>)

Ugh, my husband is finally getting the idea to match his belt with his shoes. Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks? He never wears sandals though even to the beach.

I don't like sweaty feet either and I find if I don't wear socks in sandals, they're dryer.

Good ole' GA is having typical July weather. We finally hit 100 last Saturday and it's been nasty all week. The problem with Augusta is that we're in a little valley. So today we have a "stagnant air/poor quality" alert. We go thru this every summer, but everyone acts like a heat wave has never happened before. Most folks expect it. Last night at 9:30pm, it was still 92 degrees. Yuck!

Well, I started this thread complaining about the heat. Today, is nearly perfect. It's 88, low humidity and hardly a cloud in the sky. Very unusual for this part of NY. Just got back from lunch with a couple of beautiful women and wondering why.
