We try to offer flu shots to our employees and every year until this one, the cost per was $15. Same sources are now asking $30 per shot/employee. Are any of you doing this for your employees and if so, what is the going rate in your area?

Sure hope our cost is not near $30 each.
Just talked with our nurse and she indicated that the vials for this year are going for $125 each with 10 doses per vial.
Edit - we did not give flu shots last year since we could not get the vaccine. The 500 figure was for 2003.

$35 pnuemonia
$30 tetanus/diptheria
We charge the same price to ees that we do to our customers. We are not a clinic, we are a retail operation that during the "flu season" contracts through clinics to offer vaccines at our locations.
I am still waiting for the flu shot jokes - why is this in har de har?
Because I wasn't really sure where else to put it. It's not legal, not benefits (although I suppose it could've been), and not really related to HR. But since your looking for a joke, here's one (not related to Flu shots)
Two fellows from Alabama (o.k. Tennessee, MAYBE Arkansas) were sitting around talking
> one afternoon.

> After a while the first fellow says to the second, "If'n I was to
> sneak over to your trailer Saturday and make love to your wife while
> you was off huntin', and she got pregnant and had a baby, would that
> make us kin?"

> The second fellow crooked his head sideways for a minute, scratched
> his head, and squinted his eyes thinking real hard about the question.
> Finally, he says, "Well, I don't know about that, but it sure would
> make us even."
