Superhero Interview Question

A question that was asked of me once and I still like to ask others in turn..."If you could be any superhero or villian from comic books or video games, who would you be and why?"

With that question to the forum, I will leave it to you to answer or not -

I would be The Green Lantern. When I was seventeen, my best friend's little brother, Lewis, actually believed I was Green Lantern when I told him that. I think he was 8 or 9. Some of us went to New Orleans that summer and I had pictures taken of me standing on the third floor railing with a sheet around my neck like a cape. I signed it Green Lantern and mailed it to lewis. He believed with all his heart I was The Green Lantern. And as far as I know, I AM!

The Green Hornet. Something very suave about a superhero who is chauffered around in a Rolls Royce by a driver played by Bruce Lee. x:-)

Warning - partial hijack in progress...Speaking of superheros, who was the guy on the inside of a box of shredded wheat? I'm thinking it was green hornet, but may have been green arrow or something like that. After the cereal was gone (either eaten or dumped somewhere) you tore the box open and ther were line drqwings on the inside with games and puzzles and 'stuff' - anyone remember?

Possibly not everyone's idea of a superhero, but I've always (and still) had a desire to be Samantha (as in "Bewitched"). I'd much rather twitch and zap the bad guys and gals into such humiliating situations they surrender and look like idiots....

I'm with HRLass, I always wanted to be Samantha or Jeanie (I Dream of Jeanie) just a little nose twitch or a nod of the head and poof the bad guys are gone and/or looking like idiots. Just don't think I could have tolerated Darren or Major Anthony(?)...what geeks.

For all around super powers, it is hard to beat Superman. I liked a lot of the comic book characters, but with one choice, Superman is my pick.

Isn't that sort of like being granted three wishes? My first wish was always to have all my wishes come true.

If it was 1962-67, it was the Green Hornet and his faithful sidekick, Kato. I think his alter-ego was a publisher or journalist. Best part of Green Hornet was Kato and the car, in my humble opinion.

Pre 60's, and occasionally since then, would be Green Lantern who had a mystical ring that gave him special powers that was recharged when he touched it to the lantern he was named for. More "super powers" than Green Hornet who was pretty much a vigilante batman-type of guy. The Lantern was super discerning as well as strong. Green Lantern also had a much more colorful costume - it had yellow, purple, and a touch of red I think, in addition to the emerald green.

Thanks Zen, but I'm thinking way pre 60s (by then I was in Air Force)probably mid to late 40s was last time I remember seeing the drawings inside the shredded wheat box - I think Don suggested Green Lantern as well. Did that box have a picture of Niagara Falls on it? That just now came to me - quite vividly too. Funny the things you think of when someone else suggests something. Have a good'un.

Yeah, that would be Green Lantern...he's been around since about the same time Superman came on the scene - he just didn't have quite the following. I can't help you with the '40's shredded wheat box - sorry, but I hope you have a super day!

Note: I don't remember the green hornet or green lantern? If the cartoon was in black and white x:D then how did you know the superhero was indeed green?x}>
