Just wonderning about the baseball fans our there in forum land. Here in mid-Missouri, "them's fightin' words" if you aren't pulling for St. Louis and anybody playing those darn Yankees. Come on Red Sox!!! Although, Houston certainly has the momentum going at this point. Tonights games should be a good ones.

I heard a great quote from a friend. He is a Red Sox fan and he said rooting for the Yankees is like rooting for Bill Gates to make another million dollars.

That is exactly how I feel. So eloquently put. But I also don't care much for the new look the Red Sox are sporting. Being the Anti-Yankees won't do much for them either.

So, I guess I am an ABYORS (anybody but yankee or red sox) fan.

I live here so I'm rooting for the Red Sox. I guess I have no choice, do I? But I must say, I am not pleased about their grooming habits lately. I hate the long hair and scruffy beard thing. Pedro's jeri-curl has got to go.

If the Yankees win our mayor is sending their mayor "acratalobstas" and some Sam Adams Boston "Laga". Thats a crate of lobsters and Boston Lager for those of you who don't speak Boston.

The Red Sox definitely need a dress and grooming code. They look like a bunch of scruffs playing out there. I'm rooting for them over the Yankees since our Cleveland Indians aren't in the playoffs. Go Red Sox!

Since the Twins are out, I'm an ABY fan (anybody but the Yankees); our quality manager has tix to games 6 & 7 to cheer for the Cards so I've picked them up on his behalf.

I've heard about but have yet to see Pedro's mini-me. Is it true???

Well, Don, you inspired me to find out the truth. Pedro has a little buddy from the DR - his name is Nelson de la Rosa, and he is 28 inches tall. Pedro and Nelson sometimes dress alike, and Pedro carries him around. He has been called the Sox's good luck charm, and other players wondered where they could "buy one of those". It is said his performance in the remake of the Island of Dr. Moreau inspired Mini-Me in the Austin Powers movies. There is a fuzzy picture at this website.

A person is a good luck charm? So I guess he feels its ok to objectify a human who has the misfortune (or not) of being a little person. That's just disgusting. Does he carry him around like Paris Hilton carries around her little toy dog?

Red Sox Nation is in distress. Their heavy bats have been done in by two masterful pitching performances. Give the Bronx Bombers credit - They were two solid victories. But, the Sox can come back. I said before the series started that the hero would turn out to be either Branson Arroyo or Derrick Lowe. Great Rivalry.

Since Chipper and Smoltz can't be heros this year, I will have to pull for the
Cardinals. That takes me back to my childhood when I used to go to Busch Stadium and watch Bob Gibson, Ken Boyer, Curt Flood and Lou Brock.

"Close don't count" 'cept in horse shoes, hand grenades and thermo-nuclear warheads, but the Astro's have come so close the last two games. Sure keeps the games interesting. It amazes me to listen to the ESPN announcers and others the morning after with all their "shoulda, hadda, oughta's" that woulda changed the out come of the game. It is after all a game.
