Here is a math trick that will stump you.
1. Grab a calculator. (you won't be able to do this one in your head)
2. Key in the first three digits of your phone number (NOT the area code)
3. Multiply by 80
4. Add 1
5. Multiply by 250
6. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number
7. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number again.
8. Subtract 250
9. Divide number by 2
Do you recognize the answer?
{Don't want to figure out why, but darn it if it doesn't work.} :-?

x;-)
And why do you need a calculator?
I was able to do it in my head. x;-)
phone # 867-5309
1. get a calculator
2. key in first 3 numbers = 867
3. multiply by 80 = 69,360
4. add 1 = 69,361
5. muliply by 250 = 17,340,250
6. add the last 4 digits of phone # = 17,345,559
7. again, add the last 4 digits of phone # = 17,350,868
8. subtract 250 = 17,350,618
9. divide by 2 = 8,675,309
Which is the phone number 867-5309. Voila!
And Beag, the number I gave you was not my own, somehow I knew that you would give it out to Ray. You'll just have to call the number to find out to whom it belongs. x;-)
So, did anyone take the time to figure out why this works?
Here is the formula: Let "X" be the 1st 3 digits and "Y" the last 4 digits.
{250(80*X +1)+ 2*Y -250}/2
Pretty cool trick, I must say.
