Hey Ray, I see what you mean about these Philistines. Guess they just aren't educated on the "Fine Arts". For me, I just play the tenor, the bass was to much for me. However, I would like to try my hand at playing a soprano trombone. I heard one played at a concert put on by the Air Force Academy band & it was pretty awesome some of the high notes you could hit.
Guess we will just have to keep educating the rest of these folks.
It's both. But since Ray and Slogan believe we're a couple of uncultured, uncouth Philistinian clods, we're probably not good enough to wear our Bass loafers or drink Bass beer. x;-) They just sit there talking about high they can pitch their trombones or some such nonsense. x;-)
Yep, I'm sure Slogan can pitch his tenor much further than I can pitch my heavier bass. But, those squeaky sopranos ought to be pitched. There, am I back down to your level, Beagle?
Hey Ray, no I did not realize there was a piccolo trombone. And yes i can go higher with my tenor than on a bass, unless you are Beagle and have had a few too many Bass beers!!
I can hit a high C with full tone on the bass and on a good day hit a squeaky super F. How about you? But, at the other end I can get down into the double pedals. This is the musicians version of "mine is bigger than yours".
I have a Conn 88H, older model, that I can reach a high "C" on but getting to an F is a stretch for me. Give me a regular F trombone & no problem. Smaller bore ya know, it definitely is a case of "mine is bigger (or smaller) than yours".
