Very true. And on those rare occasions when the TI thought you might have transgressed a bit and not complied with regulations, the request was, "Airman, please do 20 pushups for me. If you can't make 20, do the best you can." x;-)
Then you'd go off to the chow hall (excuse me: aerospace dining facility) and have lobster and steak.
I always went for the ice cream because all they ever had was that yellow cake with the white frosting. To this day I can't stand the sight of it. That, and peach pie. I think they bought those by the gross.
I could handle any of the chow..except the jello cubes. URRGH. They were so rubbery you could bounce them off wall. Put a half dozen in your pocket and they'd still be there till nuculer winter. Jello cubes and cockroaches. Industructible. Still can't eat the stuff!
No, "tango-uniform" describes a condition of a person or thing. For example, if your Humvee breaks down beyond repair you radio in with your call sign and report that your ride is "tango uniform" so they will come and get you. Fubar works in this situation, too, but is for more extreme situations, like major crashes.
You realize I'm making all this up as I go along, don't you? x;-)
Having been out of the service so long I was combing my data banks for the true meaning of Tango Uniform. It just came to me, first smile I've had all day.....xB-)
Fortunately for you, Parabeagle, I wouldn't know the difference anyway. And all these new words/acronyms did keep me entertained during the all day meetings. x:D
