JOY, JOY, JOY... The recall is back on in CA. The 9th circuit reconsidered the previous 3 panel decision with an 11 panel decision and unanimously decided that our beloved recall process should continue as scheduled for October 7th.

By the time all is said and done, it will be time for the next election. It looks like the CA political scene will be a buzz for the next 3 to 4 years.

Ok, I am going to admit it, I have no idea what this whole thing is about. x:-8 Davis is being recalled? Does that mean that even though he won last year, the election is being reheld because they (whoever they are) don't like the job he is doing? I can't believe that is possible. Can someone please explain this to me in "Politics for Dummies" language? And please say this is strictly a California thing that could NEVER happen in Massachusetts!

Ray, I'm hurt and saddened by your comment. I thought you cared about us here in CA. Suggesting Hillary could be an improvement, perish the thought.

Rad, check out the thread from 9/17 called Extra Extra Read all about it by Mwild31 to find out why we are recalling our governor. I don't think it could happen in Mass, unless it's in your state constitution. There's a lot of us here in CA that are glad we can do it here.

Thank you, I read the whole thread and your post said it all. So atleast in California it seems there is recourse against shady politicians. But I have to ask myself whether I'd be hearing about this on the news every single morning if Arnold were not involved.

HRsage, we here in NY care so much for you Californians, that we are willing to share the cream of our crop of politicians. But, I'm a little confused. Are you implying that your current cast of characters are better than Hill? We have sent you Bill to help campaign for Gray. You're welcome.

If I had to chose between Gary Colemen or Hillary, I'd take my chances with Coleman hands down. If I had to chose between Gray Davis and Hillary, hmmmm... that's a tough one, but I think I'd go with Davis. You know, Davis is originally from Brooklyn or the Bronx, i can't remember which one. I'm thinking he might be headed home after all this clears. I'm sure you'll find room for him somewhere in your political arena.

Well if you think about it, it's really not much different from the parliamentary procedure in other countries where a duly-elected official gets a vote of "no confidence" and finds himself out on his ear and they have these revolving door elections year after year (note, for example, Canada, Israel, Great Britain, etc.).

I finally figured it out. California must be the state with the most unemployed comedy writers anywhere. They need a job and California found a clever and original way to give them work.
