Curmudgeons be alarmed

Tomorrow is "Great American Grump Out Day". The object is to get people to positive and optimistic. My heavens, what would this world be like without the Andy Rooneys and George Carlins. I for one have no intention of participating. I know I'm an amateur, but being a curmudgeon can be fun. Anyone planning to participate>?

Excluding, naturally. I am ALWAYS the epitome of courtesy, friendliness, fair mindedness, charm, wit, savoir faire and just plain nice. Unlike some on this forum who, in the dictionary under "curmudgeon" it says "See (insert name here)"

Hey Beagle: I see several Forum participants have adopted your nickname. Do you think it is easy being ill tempered and nasty? It takes years to develop into a wicked and decadent individual. The highlight of their day is when someone tells them, "Oh,(insert name) you are so evil" AND, they think, my job here is done.

Well, as you all must know, I am only a part time curmudgeon, having been given that title by Margaret during the first month of my participation. The role has been fun and a hoot! But, It's part time. In reality, I am a mixture of Andy Rooney, George Carlin, Mae West, Andy Griffith, Merle Haggard and Rodney Dangerfield. I would like to add Dick Morris to that list since he is unarguably one of the smartest men in America who apparently has no true party alignment. Anyway, I will have a positive day today, as every day, with the traditional sprinkling, as appropriate, of curmudgeon. Ain't it grand to not be straight-jacketed in one personality type all day long? It's a beautiful day here and I plan to change at least two lives for the better this morning.x:-) x:-)

It's easy to fall into the trap of being a curmudgeon, especially when dealing with some employees. But, I have found that on the days when I am determinted to think positive and look at the good side of every issue, the day goes a lot smoother. Thanks for reminding me to do that today!

I forwarded the website [url]www.smilemania.com[/url] to all our employees who have email. Then, I walked around the floor and told the rest. Everyone seemed to get a kick out of it. I think I made a few people's day.
