Does anyone have a copy of what they plan to use for the affirmation of meeting the new requirements for House Bill 1017 they would share with me? thanks, Wendy
Wendy, I am in Atlanta, but have a plant in CO. However, I don't have the article in front of me to see if what you are talking about is the number of the house bill??? but are you talking about the new requirements in CO for the verification of employment (sort of extension of I-9). If so, it sounds to me as if you just keep doing what you have been, but add to the I-9 verification keeping copies of the supporting data that you use for verification. (That is the only difference I can tell). There is a good write up in one of the recent CO HR newsletters. E Wart
Thank you for your email. It sounds to me I don't need any additional paperwork to collect. We use the I-9's certification to attest we reviewed the documents AND keep copies of those documents. thanks again, Wendy
Wendy, the article that E Wart is referring to -- "What you need to know about Colorado's new employment verification laws" -- appeared in Colorado Employment Law Letter's November issue and is available in the archives on this site. tk
On the website http://www.coworkforce.com/ on the left hand side under Employer Services there is a copy of the Affirmation of Legal Work Status form.
I keep the affirmations together with the I-9 and photo copies of id provided.
