Mandatory Posters for free

I've managed to find every mandatory state and federal labor law posting for free through government websites to avoid paying G. Neil or anyone else $$$. I cannot find the new HIPAA posting G. Neil is marketing. Anyone have it? I'll share my other documents!

Are you sure it's required? Or is it a state or industry thing? There isn't anything listed under my Nebraska DOL site for HIPAA. Mushroom, do you have one hanging in your plant? Is there something I'm missing?

PS - Good for you, Catbert, for finding them! It can take some patience and persistence, but it's definitely worth it when you can toss those solicitations for expensive posters. I have found they use the alarm marketing tactics - YOU MUST HAVE THIS POSTER NOW! I've had my USERRA poster up (thanks to mushroom) since the March deadline, and I'm still getting solicitations that I have to have this NEW poster. I got it already, thanks!

I know what you mean! "Did you miss the deadline?" and "You may be out of compliance!" (or worse, "According to records, you ARE out of compliance." - why are you keeping records on me?!?).

After purchasing one of those "all-in-one" posters a couple of years ago, and receiving a "your poster is out of date" notice within a month, I figured out it was a money-making scheme. So I went out and found them all on my own, (with State guidelines as to positioning and size -which the all-in-one posters violated), and set up bookmarks on my internet browser. Once a quarter, I go look 'em all up and make sure I've got the latest. I do this with federal forms, too, like I-9s.

I have also had very good luck getting the required federal posters from our local Career Centers (formerly Job Service). Free as well!

I'm not familiar with the HIPAA poster as we do not have to comply with HIPAA. My take is that if you fall under HIPAA then the poster would be mandatory. I do not have the HIPAA poster displayed.

I did not realize HIPAA had to be posted but rather handed out to each person who receives benefits.

I have seen the HIPAA posters in doctors' offices. You would only have to provide the HIPAA notice if you are required to comply with HIPAA. Since I do not see any PHI, I am not required to provide the notice.

In case you haven't been bombarded, the new USERRA poster (12/05) is now out there. Final Regs were issued in Dec.

This got me wondering if HRHERO would add a "Required postings" download area with pdfs or links to where each posting can be downloaded to their website (if one doesn't already exist).

It would be a nice feature and add value to our subscription.

ALTHOUGH I notice the USERRA poster is the Feb 2005 and NOT the Dec 2005 - I shall send them an e-mail and request that change!

We've considered this a couple of times in the past and were deterred for one reason or another. It does seem to dovetail with the other compliance needs we're trying to meet. We'll look at it again.

One reason that could deter is keeping on top of state changes. Could the law firms designated for each state help with that? I'd think they'd hear about it before the rest of us. I still don't have a good way of figuring out when Nebraska changes its posting requirements.
