camera's in the office

We have security camera's in office area's that used to be for money handeling purposes. Now the office area's are for ee's who do not really need to have camera's watching them, directly pointed at their desks. Is there a vialition here?

I think the law in most states mentions that they are allowed where an employee does not have a reasonable expectation of privacy, i.e. restrooms, dressing rooms. Employers are generally able to put cameras most everywhere else they wish to for whatever business purpose they decide. It's not necessary to tell people when you've put cameras up unless your state law requires that. Some may.
