No Rehire Policy

Does anyone out there have a policy in which they do not rehire former employees?? If so could you please send me a copy of the language you used.

  • In my previous nonprofit life, (don't have a copy of the handbook), we said that failure to provide adequate notice (2 wks for non-exempt, 4 wks for exempt) would result in being ineligible for rehire. I suppose there could be a line about misconduct which may include but is not limited to 1, 2, 3, etc.

    We then backed it up with paperwork - an Action Notice that was used for several types of "transactions" - and checked Yes or No under "Eligible for Rehire" in the termination section.
