Laminators

We are considering the purchase of a laminator for our office. I am up to my ears in Laminator information. Could someone help me to determine which machine would meet our needs. We will be laminating documents, signs and name tags ( for placing at desks). We do want a laminator that would allow at least 12 in. width. I am seeing laminators by USI that would certainly meet our needs, but also see laminators by Fellowes and other companies that have similar machines for $100.00 less. Would appreciate feedback that would help us pick out a machine that is cost effective but also of good value. Thank you for your help.

I have nothing against USI, but it's been my experience they charge considerably more than many of their competitors. Do you have a good office supply company in town? (Not Office Depot or Staples, but a specialy office supply and equipment store.) Pay them a visit, and ask to see some of their products in action. If nothing else, you may get some good information on competing units.

I once had experience with a machine that was dangerously hot when in use. Be sure you look at the "cool" models now available.
