All I know so far is that last week at our Cabinet meeting our CEO and our COO announced that they are voluntarily freezing their salaries for next year due to the anticipated extra tight margins in 2007. Wage increases may be "slim pickin's" around here for 2007.
Our 2007 fiscal year started October 1st. At that time employees and supervisors got 3%. Our managers get their raises on January 1st. We have budgeted 3%.
We're in the final stages of preparing the 2007 Raises survey for HR Hero Line (our weekly e-zine here at M. Lee Smith). All HR Hero Line subscribers should get an email on Dec. 4 with a link to the survey. We'll report the results in the Dec. 15 issue of Hero Line.
Not only will you be able to see what kinds of raises companies are planning to give their employees next year, but you'll also be able to filter the results and see what employers in your state or of your size company are doing.
4% on January 1st across the board...supervisors, staff, etc.
Instead of giving a larger salary to the managers and supervisors we were able to go 4% on everyone instead of 3% with a larger percentage for the higher end staff.

Hope this helps.

This year we went with 2% and almost had a revolt on our hands. Horrible for morale even though that reduced rate saved some jobs.
