Working from home

We have a salary nonexempt employee who takes work home to finish it. She states that she can not get it all done at work. My question is we do not pay her the overtime for doing the work at home, but since we know she is doing it, should we pay her anyway? Are we in any violations with wage and hour if we don't pay her overtime for working at home on her own?

Time worked is time worked, even at home. I tell everyone that time cards must reflect the actual time worked and all time worked. Any time over 40 hours per week is overtime, even if it hasn't been authorized it still has to be paid. We discipline the employee if the OT hasn't been authorized but still have to pay it. If she was an exempt employee then there wouldn't be any overtime, but there are certain criteria to be met to be considered exempt.
I'd be concerned about why she can't get all her work done and look in to that.

We are looking into the reason for not finishing her work here. I don't want to pay someone for something that they think would be more convenient to do. I will also put a stop to taking work home. I need to know if there is documentation that shows I have to pay her -Legally.
