Anyone know if AZ has a law that says if an part time employee works XX hours per week for XX weeks, the employee must be afforded the same benefits as a full time employee? I heard that if someone worked 34 hours per week for 13 weeks they were entitled to same benefits as a full time employee? Is this true?

Maybe the 34/wk average over 13 weeks is the guideline your company uses to determine whether or not an employee meets the average hours?
I agree: check your plan documents and review your employee handbook to see what's there, if you haven't already.
