We don't have COLAs and I don't know of many private industry manufacturing firms that do. We pay wages (and determine wage increases) based on the demands of the labor market. We run a salary/wage survey annually and stay abreast of what it takes to be competitive and increase accordingly. If we don't pay enough to attract and retain labor, we need to increase our wages. But not on a COLA basis. I tend to think of COLAs as applying to pensions and things that are set rather than market driven. So, I shouldn't have replied.
