Does anyone know where I can find wages for a 6 Sigma Black Belt? We are in the process of promoting from within. We are an Automotive Manufacturer with 200 employees. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ;;)

I knew Mr. Miaggi (?sp) should have been paid better wages!!!!!
You can find out more at that website than you care to know. I've not experienced wage ranges being associated with accomplishments in this program. Jobs pay what they pay according to community standards and prevailing wages for the occupation and I have not known any 6 Sigma to demand a certain wage level because of his belt level. It's more bragging rights like a 32nd degree Mason. It's one of those "That plus 35 cents will buy you....".

>Lean, not 6 Sigma. Have a good one.
Hmm, not sure about size being relevant. I can only speak for two companies I have worked for whom compensated accordingly for it. Tyco and Dell (appx. 250,000 and 55,000 employed worldwide, respectively). Again, the focus is on how it enriches one's qualifications as it applies to the particular job/position.
Lean manuf. and six sigma are apples and oranges. I fail to see the correlation or significance of the comparison.

Unless the black belt role is permanent, don't mess with the salary. Compensate on the back end or simply for the duration of their participation.
