Adjunct Teachers/Wisonsin

We are a non-profit faith based organization. We have a few adjunct teachers who work 15 weeks, a few hours per week. We pay them $1,000.00 per semester (15 wks). Can we pay them a one-time stipend/honorarium at the end of the semester? Must we put them on our payroll and pay them on a bi-weekly schedule as all our employees are paid?

I would check Wisconsin Wage & Hours laws. I believe that you must pay at least once per month in Wisconsin. Go on the Internet and put in Wisconsin Wage & Hours laws into a search engine.
