Pay for mandatory training

One form of employee disipline used by my company is to request the employee re-take a training class appropriate to their misconduct. For example, if an employee exhibited inappropiate behavior in the workplace they would be instructed to re-take a class on Professionism in the Workplace. My question is : Can we require a non-exempt employee take this training class without paying them for the hours spent in class?
