Are professionals exempt

Are professionals such as doctors, lawyers, engineers, teachers, etc. still exempt even if they don't supervise at least two people, and are makining less than the highly compensated ceiling amount under the proposed regulations?

Sanitation 'engineers' and head start 'teachers' are not engineers or teachers and are not exempt. Neither are self-certified cellblock lawyers or 'street doctors'. It goes to the level of training, whether certificated, the professional level of the job and preparation required for it and the degree to which they are involved in carrying out the duties of specialized occupations. I don't pretend to be able to quote the FLSA exemption regs, but somebody on here will.

(edit) The elements of the 'proposed' regs have nothing to do with it, yet.
