Holiday pay

Ok, I hope you all understand this question. To accomodate the hourly employees to let them be able to have Thursday and Friday off (instead of just Thursday) we changed work days. We worked them Sunday thru Wed. take off Thursday with pay for the 4th and take a no work day for Fri. Therefore, they have a 40 hr. work week. My question is--if an employee worked Mon. thru Sat. of last week and then started Sunday as the beginning of the week and having to work till Wednesday with Thursday off would that have to be paid time and a half? That would be 10 days straight. Have I broken any law??

Our payroll begins from Monday thru Sunday.
Our payroll is from Monday thru Sunday. Please advise.
It's a little hard for me to tell because I don't have the exact hours this employee worked each day. As I think I understand it, the employee worked Monday through Saturday. Then Sunday through Wednesday, with holiday pay on Thursday, off Friday and will not return to work until Monday. If the employee worked 8 hours each of these days and your payroll week runs Monday to Sunday, your emplyee worked 56 hours the first week and 24 hours the second (32 if you count holiday pay as hours worked). You would owe the employee 16 hours of overtime - 8 more than you anticipated for Sunday because of the way your payroll week runs. Call me about this and I'll try to help you.
