Travel & Entertainment Policies

We would like to limit lodging to a maximum amount based on the location of the hotel, possibly a 3-tier policy (e.g., a higher maximum for New York, mid-range max for Denver, lower max for Seattle). Does anyone have a similar policy or handle the cost differences in another way?

  • We have a fixed amount for standard travel. If someone is going to a high cost area, we ask them to get a manager's approval before booking a reservation. That allows a discussion about cost versus convenience. Perhaps because we are an employee owned business, we don't have much abuse in this area.
