  • Irregardless of what some so-called "experts" will tell you, there has not been any evaluation, survey, profile or exit interview that truly measures EE satisfaction. Any of these measurements only reflect how an EE feels since their last raise or since their last disciplinary action. If they got a good raise they are satisfied. If they have been disciplined, even if they got the top raise available 2 months ago, they are now not very happy. Put yourself in their place and rate your satisfaction both after a large or a small raise and after a not-so-pleasant meeting with the boss. Human nature takes over during the good and or bad times and will greatly skew opinions at that time.
  • Monitor your turnover rate. Although I agree that employee satisfaction changes with the seasons, employees will leave if your compensation and benefit package is not fair and equitable, not only internally, but as measured externally with competitors. Good luck.
