EAP's Required?

I had two employee's return from a "Supervisor" seminar yesterday stating that the speaker said any company with over 50 employee's is required to offer an employee assistance program. I have looked all over the internet to find such information and cannot.

Can anyone help me?

The only such requirement I am aware of falls under our Drug Free Workplace Program (which is governed by Florida state law). It does require an EAP, however it does not have to be a formal program as generally thought of. It can be as simple as HR maintaining a list of counseling centers, crisis hotlines, and/or referral to our insurance provider's mental health network. If you have a DFWP, you might check into the text of the law governing it.

Maybe the person heard AAP (Affirmative Action Plan). A written AAP is required for government contractors and subcontractors who have 50 or more employees.
