French Social Security and Retirement

I am looking for information as to French retirement from Social Security contributions as well as some of the supplementary programs. I do not speak or read French and am having trouble getting information. Any suggestions?

Christine, I don't know the first thing about French Social Security (you do have interesting issues, don't you?), but I do speak and read French, if that would be helpful. Alternatively, if you have access to a university or college, there will likely be someone there who can interpret the information for you. Good luck!

Thanks, Susan. I appreciate the offer, but I suspect there may be some digging and time required. Working with a college is a good suggestion. I don't think it is one number like we have in the US because there are supplemental insurances. I found a website which appears to pertain, but...it is in French.

You might try calling the French consulate in Washington. I once needed information for employment requirements and tax and social security issues for having employees in Spain and the Spanish consulate was very helpful in getting me information.
