Do not qualify for FMLA, but........

Hi, I'm a new HR professional in the trucking industry and this is my first exposure to and FMLA related issue. We have many location throughout the US, but in each location we do not have enough employees to meet the EE count for FMLA. I recently had an employee come in with a doctors excuse due to her pregnancy telling us that she can no longer work full-time. Because of this she lost all of her benefits, but now, her manager wants to terminate her because he needs somebody full-time, which the EE cannot due. (Not due until mid-June)

As far as I can tell from all of the reading that I have been doing, there is nothing stopping my manager from letting her go, but is there something else I should consider and/or be careful of before giving my manager the go ahead??
