odor in the work place

I am and HR manager with a problem. Need some advise. Employee with severe leg disease that has a horrible stench to in. Employees in the office are threatning to quit, if something is not done about it. We have a Dr.'s note that tells the employee how to care for infection and a referral to another physcian. What can we do now that we know about the infection and have a dr's note? He is a great employee.

  • If this is a temporary situation and the great employee is being treated for it, and said great employee funk does not impact client/customer relations, I would probably buy a few of my favorite scented candles and place them on the desks of the complaining employees and tell them to deal as best they can for the time being OR if alternate shifts are available, I might offer the ones with the weakest stomachs an evening or night shift instead of a regular nine to five. Just my opinion.
